"Sin is sweet in the beginning, but bitter at the end." - The Talmud
This trailer kind of rung a bell with me. Not because I'm Jewish but because it is about religion, to a certain degree, and drugs.
For several weeks a while back, I was in heated debates with people all over the world (not really, just few several friends) on whether marijuana smoking was a biblically acceptable practice that Christians can partake in. I'm going to withhold my view for now so you have to read it until the end to find my view. hohoho.
Anywho, I was kind of surprised at the amount of Christians that said that it was acceptable to smoke weed without going against Christianity and some of them even partook in the activity. I was rather dismayed at the latter. Anywho, I took the discussion further and while people were divided in the acceptability of smoking marijuana, they were all unanimous on this second point that I raised. I asked them if it was ok to smoke weed, is it ok to become a dealer without going against Christian ideals. For some reason, people all said it was wrong to do this. The responses were interesting. People who were advocating the smoking of the weed and giving decently concrete support for their views suddenly said, "dood, that's just wrong. Shut up and don't even think about it. It's wrong." I really didn't understand this. Why can you smoke weed? But not sell weed? If someone convinced me that smoking weed was an acceptable Christian practice, without a doubt, I would seriously have look into selling weed. I have bills to pay and if it's ok for Christians to smoke, then why not? Right?
This discussion really opened my eyes to how stupid people can be.
Anywho, on the trailer, there are a couple instances when they say, "[do this, do that] and act Jewish." I thought this was an interesting point because he WAS Jewish. He LOOKED super Jewish with his curly sideburns and hat. Despite his apparent Jewishness, I thought it was interesting that they had to remind him to be what he actually is. It was almost as if selling drugs were...UNJEWISH! OMGAH.
I don't think weed is acceptable and I despise it in its entirety. And I don't think selling or smoking weed can go under "being Christian" category. I'm not going to put any arguments up against weed because I'm pretty sure someone out there is going to find something wrong with my argument but just know, I think it's wrong. And stupid.
PostScript. My littler sister has been calling me names and it hurts my feelings. I know you may tell me to man up and just suck it up, but it's hard when a little girl calls you the following in no particular order: Stupid, Idiot, Retard, Weirdo, and Freak. I've been getting pretty depressed over this. I've been considering calling her several names that I have for her but thankfully, God has blessed me with a little more self-control and discernment. Praise God. Pray that my sister will come to know God soon. Like real Christ. Not weird fake Christ that these little kids tend to believe in. The fake Christ that does nothing in their lives except make them jump during really good praise songs. Rawr. I'm angry. :D

But yes, I understand the hurt feelings from name calling part. sometimes even friends does it.
about the weed. I am guessing there are arguments on the "for medical purposes"?
But I do love the question you brought up on selling weed.
