So the Dark Knight Rises villains are decided. Anne Hathaway will play Catwoman and Tom Hardy will play Bane. Again, I cannot see the compatibility of the actors and the characters but Christopher Nolan sees things that we mere mortals do not. Case in point, I would never have imagine Heath Ledger as the Joker and he was beautiful.

I have recently been on a Japanese film binge because I've come to deeply appreciate Japanese philosophy on life and whatnot. It's extremely nostalgic. I have see Summer Wars, Paprika, and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time which are all animated films and they were all amazing. Also, each film kind of expressed the underlying attitude that the Japanese have. That the world is a dream reality. It may not be true, but that's the gist of the feeling I got from those films.
After watching these animated films, I went on Japanese movie hunt. I've found one film of interest: Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge. Yes. Is that not the coolest title for a film. I've always been fascinated with the Japanese ability to come up with the most amazing names ever. Crying Out Love in the Center of the World ( a film) and the amazing Thee Michelle Gun Elephant with their song Deadman's Galaxy Days.
I'm really sad they don't let me embed the video but here's the link. Check them the crap out:

Obviously, as a lover of awesomely peculiar names, Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge would catch my attention. I watched the film and it fascinates me because everything about the film is mysterious to me. Synopsis of the film: Everynight, the chainsawman comes to fight Eri who has to kill him for some mysterious reason. Within the film itself, there is a Chainsawman whose origins are never revealed and they don't even tell you why or how he got there. It doesn't tell us why she has to fight him or who she can kill him, seeing as to how he's impervious to knives and stabs to his heart.
This is not the only thing that fascinates me. The fact that it is marketed in Japan as if it's pretty normal to have a name like Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge blows up my mind. Anywho, I really enjoyed how this film made me feel in terms of the wonder and mysteries this world holds. The thing about films like these is that I don't think they mind being unreasonably mysterious and in that sense a bit realistic. Tom Clancy said that the difference between fiction and reality is that fiction has to make sense. I've come to truly appreciate this because reality doesn't make sense in letting us go to heaven. (religious plug :-jD)
