My Last Trip to Narnia
All their life in this world and all their adventures in Narnia had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth had read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before.
Now I have to go watch the movies and probably be disappointed.

A Story
He ducked out of the way and then heard from the car, "Get him, get him." This man was a great fighter and was about to make a stand when he saw the back seat door open. This showed that there were at least three men in the car and probably four. As strong as this guy was, he could not take on three people so he ran for it.
He ran and ran until he got to his dorm and posted up what just happened on his blog.

Richard's Thoughts on The Forbidden Kingdom
A) The Forbidden Kingdom's Fatal Mistakes As A Movie
One thing that really bothered me was a theme that the writers decided to shove into the movie. The theme of everyday life being an adventure is a theme that no movie should ever have. One goes to the movies so that they can forget about their everyday life but with a theme like this, The Forbidden Kingdom is shoving all its audience members back into reality. I do not appreciate this gesture. I thought the beginning was fairly decent all the way until Jason, the protagonist, gets mixed up with the hooligans. Then everything goes downhill. One more thing that really bothered me besides the theme was that Jason had no reason whatsoever to go back into his own world. The movie does not show a great relationship between Jason and his mother which might be the only thing that could convince Jason to go back. Not only that, his only apparent friend gets killed which would further Jason's reasons to stay in the Chinese wonderland.
B) The Forbidden Kingdom's Fatal Mistakes With Its Kung Fu Fight Scenes
This is particularly but not exclusively referring to the fight scene between Jet Li and Jackie Chan. I think an associate of mine makes a good point in saying that the fight scene was too long despite the fact that the two fighting were Jet Li and Jackie Chan. "It's all cool but, enough is enough." (Terrance Kimm, roughly paraphrased) Another thing done horribly wrong was the soundtrack for the fight scene. The music was definitely American and not Kung Fu music at all. When they were fighting, it didn't seem like they were fighting but just performing their choreographed moves because the music was just too much. It didn't match at all and at times, it even seemed like the music was too overwhelming and it was hard to concentrate on the fight.
C) The Forbidden Kingdom's Fatal Mistake as a Chinese movie
The Forbidden Kingdom, like The Last Samurai, had a protagonist of Caucasian decent. Freaking Ay.
D) The Forbidden Kingdom's Fatal Mistake as a children's film
A four letter word that starts with S and rhymes with hit.
A five letter word that starts with B and rhymes with itch.
I also have some praises for The Forbidden Kingdom:
Sparrow was not ugly
Sparrow did not kiss Jason
The Witch was not ugly
The Witch was kind of pretty
The Witch's real name is BingBing, seriously
Jackie Chan
Jet Li
The secret of Jet Li's character (Don't want to spoil it)
There are some really nice shots of Jason in mad pain

Purple Penguins in Pink Pajamas are the Victors
Rap on Sampson:
Yoyo
There was a man named Samson
He was very handsome
He had long hair
He could beat a bear
He met a girl named Delilah
She was very fine-ah
She cut his hair
So he couldn't beat the bear
Representin' the 4P's
Bible Verse to Memorize:
Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit the orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world - James 1:27
Things we got out of it:
Bragging rights
A nice hat
A greatastic time

The Beauty of Human Resources
- Meet and get to know a really really tall and pretty white girl.
- Meet and get to know really really pretty white girls.
- Meet and get to know really really nice pretty white girls.
- Get fit. Obesity is not a small problem.
- Meet and befriend ridiculously buff white guys.
Whatever. All I can do is appreciate the aesthetic value of it all. I really hope I achieve my goals. All these tasks seem so daunting. What to do...

Music Series: Regina Spektor
She has that voice that I find so charismatic and attractive. She plays around with words and sounds in her songs and she is kinda ninda pretty. Not really. Anywho, she plays the piano but what really got me was a song she played where she played piano with one hand, and banged on a chair with a stick on the other. Poor Little Rich Boy by Regina Spektor.

New Music Series: Stance Punks
The music Stance Punks make contain catchy melodies and a lot of energy. It is constantly shouting, not screaming which is a big difference. The main singer, Tsuru, looks really funny at times and the guitarist, Kinya, has a Gibson SG. The bassist, Tetsushi, has a semi-bowl cut. The drummer, Kenichi, has cool hair style. It's all in Japanese so I don't understand the lyrics but I still like it. I listen to music for the music, not the messages. Musicians should make music, not messages. So I don't mind shallow music. If a good song just happens to have a good message then more power to it. However, if a song has the most unharmonious lyrics and a great message without a good beat, shame on it. I think Ironic by Alanis Morissette would be an example of that. Of course there's a point where even I don't like a song based on its lyrics. Sugar by System of a Down has the most absurd one-liner. I would definitely like it if it weren't for that.
Anywho, back onto Stance Punks, I just like the image they give out and the music they play.

A Reason for Everything I Do
Anywho, I write on such Christianly awkward topics because I don't want the teachers or students that read my essay to get too comfortable in a Christian setting. They have to realize that such sins exist even in Biola and they can't just go on ignoring them. Basically, I just try to use shock factor to shock Christians out of their states of naivety and look at the world with "eyes unclouded" (Princess Mononoke). haha. Anywho. Sex Pistols.
I love these guys.

Sex Pistols Series
This is good stuff. The two important people are the two middle guys. Sid Vicious and Johnny Rotten.
